The anti-fog properties of an AGV Race X visors are thus: Shite.
I had forgotten the name of the visor there, so went to check it out and it seems like they have re-branded the AGV visors, I think it was a Qsomething before…anyway, it still stands; don’t use these visors in heavy rain.
The solution to this problem? The “Foggy”

The Respro Foggy mask
So what the hell is this odd shaped thing? This ladies and gentlemen is the Foggy mask. It may not look like much but, when installed correctly in to your helmet, offers a genuinely excellent anti-fog solution.

The Respro Foggy mask
The Foggy is a pre-shaped piece of neoprene type material that is secured in to your helmet using 1 large velcro patch and using the cheek pads as clamps. The main velcro patch sits at your chin inside the helmet. The sides of the Foggy then get sandwiched between your cheek pads and your chin strap, securing the velcro to the cheek pad.

Now this is where the Foggy falls down with the AGV GP-Tech. On most helmets you get either a leather chin interior or material interior. On the AGV you get a suede type material and in the middle of the chin there’s a material mesh that allows air in. This means that the velcro doesn’t really adhere that well to the helmet. This is a problem for 2 reasons. The first is that the Foggy mask doesn’t secure that well to the helmet at the front. It doesn’t impact the way the mask operates at all, but is annoying when you are trying to attach the helmet. The reverse is also true, when you come to remove the foggy, the velcro pad comes out with the mask.

The Respro Foggy mask
The mask sits on your face creating a nice, comfortable seal. All your breath is then channeled downwards away from the visor, thus making a great anti-mist product. However there is one more negative.
When you come to take your helmet off, the mask doesn’t really allow you to get your head out cleanly, and actually its a bit sore. The plastic nose clip scrapes your forehead and is quite sore.
However that doesn’t detract from the brilliant simple anti-fog system that the Respro “Foggy” mask offers.

The Respro Foggy mask
So to conclude, the Respro Foggy Mask is a great way to keep your so called anti-fog visors mist free. It does have a few downsides but overall this is a great product. It cost me £11.99 and it was worth every penny, especially as it ads an extra layer for winter!
(I wasn’t going to mention it but it looks fecking cool too)
So there you go,
