This is why I love Great Britain and specifically, our armed forces.
If you want to know the general reaction amongst the Brits to Prince Harry’s Las Vegas strip billiards scandal then I suggest you have a gander at this facebook group which just made my week and set me up for the day.
Almost 12,000 people have joined ‘Support Prince Harry with a naked salute!’ and are posting pictures of themselves in the buff to give their colleague a laugh and let him know that a bit of Vegas nakedness is no big deal as far as they’re concerned.
I just lost a whole morning on there drooling at the boys and girls in uniform (or specifically- out of it – to show support for their fellow squaddie).
I’ve dated a couple of army lads in the past- they have amazing bodies and are always up for a laugh.
Anyway, I digress. Whilst there’s been a shocked fuss in America over Harry’s Vegas antics, in Europe we love a bit of nakedness and if anything it shows the third in line to the throne in a more human light.
I’m starting to think that Harry’s actually going to come out of this more loved and popular than ever in the public eye and – importantly for him on a personal level – in the eyes of the military.
Harry’s at his father’s Gloucestershire home until he goes back to work later this week and as that coincides with the fifteen year anniversary of his mother Princess Diana’s death I think it’s safe to say that from a PR point of view, Harry’s going to be just fine.
